Which music player do you run under Linux?

I just installed LollyPop.
But it’s too fancy for me. The whole web stuff is just annoying, sorry …

But the equalizer is nice …

I use good old quodlibet just showing the artist/track title/track duration. Sometimes I use G4music for variety, but lately it has failed playing some tracks randomly. For the time being, I’ve returned to Amberol instead when I want to use something slightly fancier.

That’s totally ok. Some like it simpler. I like it when my musicplayer also plays radio streams and also downloads missing album covers. But you are right that the whole last.fm and musicbrainz stuff is really annoying. I hardly do not thinking of it, sorry

audacious, its the closest ive found to rhythmbox that looks native on plasma

Just found out about the pragha music player and it looks great

Lots of good options, for now im testing strawberry and audacious. Im on kde so i try to use apps that mesh well with it. Also, all kde apps are great. When i have to be on windows i use foobar2000…

Recently switched from VLC to cmus and I’ve been really digging it.

hey welcome @RSta :enos:
sad to see guayadeque gone… webside seems already offline by now… AUR build still exist… but will be getting non-working with time…

I do fall back on basic mpd and mpdevil (mainly only to create playlists)

I use Cider for accessing my Apple Music Library. Besides my Linux based Gaming Rig I am quite stuck in the Apple ecosystem…cause it just works :grimacing:

how did you get album art to display so nice?

Museeks. AUR. Plays music and organizes it. No pyrotechnics or flashing or beeping or seizure-inducing. Or skins. Or any kind of context menus. Or album art, In fact I forget how to get music into it sometimes.
If you are absolutely bored and unimpressed with complexity, there is this:

Latest Plexamp seems to have some issues. Keyboard shortcuts aren’t working and the AUR version is stuck in a “play next” loop, just keeps switching song repeatedly, very fast and is not responsive.

I used audacious in the past but lately have been using just vlc for audio and video files.

Audacious for audio, VLC for video and Timidity for midi.

Quod Libet for playing music. Beets for organizing it. MusicBrainz Picard for cleaning up and tagging.
