Which DE for zoom screenshare (poll)

I have been able to use zoom reliably on xfce and on an openbox only install. I have also used discord video so I would think you should be fine. Cheers

The best answer is trying it yourself and see what works best for you.

I’m a Cinnamon user that used to use KDE. My KDE experience was better with Discord specifically. In Cinnamon, with Nvidia graphics, I sometimes get lots of screen tearing.

For the few Zoom calls I’ve done on either DE, no one said they saw anything weird. But it really is best just to try them out on your current install before reinstalling the whole system.

Lastly, WMs really are the best option. I’ve been testing out both qtile and awesome and I don’t notice any screen tearing. Same graphics card.

You are right! I tried it today, I think last time was about 1-2 years ago, now things have been quite smoothed out on firefox and screenshare seems to work like this at least (in gnome wayland session).
