Where is the external keyboard shown in the System Settings

In System Settings> Keyboard > Keyboard only the inbuilt keyboard of the laptop is shown. So during install if Generic | Generic 104-key PC or Generic | Generic 105-key PC had been selected, which typical happens, then it stays the same. Even if a 82-key external keyboard or a Generic 86-key external keyboard is connected via USB cable it remains the same.

While using a bluetooth or a RF keyboard the situation is not that different.

So if an external keyboard is selected, regardless of the keyboard being usb or bluetooth or rf, in KDE plasma where can its configuration be seen and changed? While the default laptop’s keyboard remains the same.
I am assuming that connecting a new keyboard should change the locale keyboard too. My existing locale is LANG=en_US.UTF-8.

Looking at the screen I would be looking at the options at the bottom and switching when needed.
Probably not what ya after but this is how I would do it instead of touching/ diting fiels
