I was having some problems with my Gnome settings page not wanting to into dark mode, when I noticed my Gnome-Desktop package was stuck on 44, even though 45 has been out since September of 2023.
here is a screenshot for my result of command ‘pacman -Ss gnome-’ :
and even stranger the offical arch linux extra repo package for gnome-desktop seems to be stuck on 44.0-1, even though I have seen several posts (including on this forum) talking about Gnome 45 being available on arch linux.
No clue what they are actually numbering or calling their versions. I’m relatively new to Gnome. But I have the same version numbers. A lot of gnome-software is on version 45.x
These are libraries used by other GNOME components. Despite the naming, they are not to be mistaken as the GNOME Desktop Environment.
