I recently rebuilt my primary machine. The last time I built it, I only had a single monitor attached; this time I had a second one attached. The second monitor (a smaller, 4k unit) seems to be the “main” display in places I can’t find to fix.
Most vexing is Wine & Proton scaling. Wine, Steam, Proton, etc. all seem to take scaling cues from that second display, which is a problem since it’s a 4k display and my main is a 1440p.
I’ve fixed GDM to move the login screen over, but where would “something” be storing the idea that the smaller monitor should set the stage for scaling Wine apps? Right now I can only properly run apps with that monitor unplugged; as soon as I plug it back in, everything goes crazy again.
