I use mullvad for my use (wireguard)
Whatever the app from mullvad uses.
The app is in the AUR: mullvad-vpn-bin
I’ve read about wireguard being included in the new kernels
Where is it and how do I use it?
The module is part of the kernel
Just a comment from a bypasser:
Mostly - the usage of a given VPN provider is depending on the usage.
I know this is way after the fact, but nobody should be using HMA if you want any kind of anonymity. They provided logs to the FBI in 2011 which lead to arrests. The fact that they claim to really not have logs this time, guys, means nothing in an industry where trust is everything.
Happy Expressvpn user, 3 years this December: https://www.expressvpn.com/?oid=homepage
ZenMate.
Dunno how we got it, I guess Hubby found it on some Linux site. It’s like with Mint: “The shit just workz!”
I have been using Keepsolid VPN Unlimited for the past 6 years and they have been reliable, very cheap, fast speeds, with lots of servers, and dedicated torrent networks. However, they are headquarters are in the US, New York to be specific, so there is that. I only use my VPN to torrent. Not really worried about the acronym agencies, figure they already have all our info. Keepsake has a new lifetime membership now of $39 via Stack Social.
My contract is up in a few weeks, so deciding if I am going to renew or switch to ProtonVPN which is also suppose to be excellent, and servers in Switzerland, a no-logs policy, DNS Leak protection and an automatic Kill Switch and around $4 US a month.
I use Windscribe here
I have been using self-hosted OpenVPN for over ten years.
I tried their free service which was pretty good and signed up with them for a year.
After signing on my speed drop to crap on any server that I tried. They were good enough to refund my money, so no lost.
I use Windscribe, very happy with it.
What are your thoughts on Nord VPN? I have had a subscription with them which will end in December. So I might have to look at other alternatives or just renew it with them.
I use nordVPN had no problems its fast
I’ve looked at Windscribe and have to say simply no, I was far from impressed with it. I’m with @Anticupidon about Proton VPN. I’ve been using their free online mail client and really like it.
That is surprising, I get really good speeds. Still, there is a lot else not to like about their service. I am not a fan, just a user.
If I could afford it I’d be on it, but only once they create an interface as good as they have for Windows. I like in windows setting it up to either cutoff the internet if the VPN shuts down and the ability to end certain programs if the VPN shuts down from the systray.
Wait till Black Friday and Cyber Monday, they offer good discounts.
The grass is always greener…
I’m just hopping along with PIA - at least they helped fund Wireguard development, so their optics at least are OK
