I’m a bit lost as to what fcitx5 packages I should install in order to be able to type in Japanese from KDE 6, having a good integration with it, due to the large amount of packages available in both the Arch and AUR repositories.
Can anyone please tell me which packages I should install and from which repositories to have the best possible Japanese language typing integration in KDE 6?
After this, you’ll need to set up the environment variables so that fcitx5 works correctly with KDE 6. Add the following lines to your /etc/environment file:
extra/fcitx5-mozc 2.26.4632.102.g4d2e3bd-2 (15.2 MiB 29.4 MiB)
Fcitx5 Module of A Japanese Input Method for Chromium OS, Windows, Mac and Linux (the Open Source Edition of Google Japanese Input)
extra/fcitx5-breeze 3.0.0-1 (10.5 KiB 49.0 KiB)
Fcitx5 theme to match KDE’s Breeze style.
After installing it, you have to start fcitx5 if it doesn’t start by itself, go to System Settings–>Keyboard–>Virtual Keyboard and select Fcitx 5 Wayland Launcher:
extra/fcitx5 5.1.10-1 (8.3 MiB 17.3 MiB) [fcitx5-im]
Next generation of fcitx
extra/fcitx5-mozc 2.26.4632.102.g4d2e3bd-2 (15.2 MiB 29.4 MiB)
