French Silk Cake Roll is a delicious and elegant dessert that is perfect for special occasions. Here is a recipe for you:
Ingredients:
4 eggs
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup heavy cream
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Optional: chocolate shavings or chocolate ganache for decorating
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F. Grease a 10x15 inch jelly roll pan and line it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add in the cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cake is set and springs back when lightly pressed.
Remove the cake from the oven and dust it with powdered sugar.
Carefully roll the cake up, starting with the short end, while it is still warm. Let it cool completely while rolled.
Once cooled, unroll the cake and spread your choice of filling.
Roll the cake back up and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Optional: decorate the cake with chocolate shavings or chocolate ganache before serving.
Note: you can use different fillings such as whipped cream, chocolate mousse, or fruit jams, use your imagination and enjoy your creation.
Not my favourite but I just made some quick pizza.

morning: scrambled eggs with turkey ham or pollock
lunch: if I don’t have pollock in the morning then it’s put in with potatoes and eggs

dinner when there’s enough money: shrimp fried rice
dinner alternatively: pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms
Eating it a lot here during winters when cauliflowers sell
There’s a very similar dish we make here in Bihar, India.
Its called ‘pitha’. Filling is made of ground pulses and covering is made of semolina.
@SearingSunrazeSmash I know about gujiya, but pitha more closely resembles those dumplings

These are dangerously heavy !!
I remember when I ate this last time, and I could barely cross 2 pieces…
On other hand Gujiya are light, and I can easily around 5-6.

Holi is on 7-8 March, hence some tasty dishes are expected to be cooked.
Among them one is :
We call this Dahi Vada.
It has mix of all flavors, barring the umami.
I usually prefer this with sweet curd, but many people consume it with un-sweetened natural curd. Tamarind sauce is a must.
This dish has other purpose as well; since summer is very near here and temperature is around 38 degree Celsius, hence the food which soothes the tummy is important. Because of temperature, there are many dishes which are based on curd.
Another essential essence is Mint Sauce, or in common phrase “Pudina Chutney”. This is super tasty and its aroma is enough to attract us to eat it !

It’s really hard to list all my favorite dishes. So I’m just gonna put the dish that came to mind first, Kolkata Mutton Biriyani. Most states in India have their own variation of Biriyani (which is basically meat and rice cooked with various spices). My favorite of the variations is the Kolkata one (which you’d find throughout most of West Bengal, the state I’m from).
It’s milder than most other variations of Biriyani, and we put potato in it (which I don’t think any other state does). Here’s a recipe if you’d like to try it out.

Pretty much makes me question which style I cook at home
Jk, I cook Awadhi Biryani.
From my tiny knowledge about food, I remember that Sindhi Biryani also uses potato

We get biriyani from a place near me that is just incredible. I love it. I’ve had several options and they are all fantastic.

I’m Italian and I like to cook, so I’ll show you some dishes from my personal collection.
The Pizza: I don’t think any introduction is needed.
But I didn’t cook this one in particular, it comes from my favorite pizzeria.
Lasagne: classic version and version with porcini mushrooms, sausages and peas.
