Yes i know that show but never watched it? The logo isn’t based on that though. 
The name is based on that show, though. The logo is sails, because of the ship.
I’m not so sure it’s totally based on that show? I thought it was a bunch of things (ideas) besides that? Such as the ship HMS Endeavour, and then the theme took on a new aspect of the space shuttle endeavour later. The logo makes perfect sense to those of us who have been here from the first days since EndeavourOS launched. But it’s not my place to explain the origins so i won’t. I’ll leave that up to the powers at be. It’s EndeavourOS and it’s the purple side! 
If I was actually good at art I would take a stab at converting this image into a endeavour OS logo / wallpaper.
Or at least something similar to it.
The name of this project isn’t named after the TV show Endeavour or Inspector Morse, those were my favorite shows indeed. I always liked the word Endeavour but the project was named because of the literal meaning of the word.
None of us had any experience running a distro or FOSS project so it was, and still is, an ENDEAVOUR.
The logo doesn’t reflect our themes but that has to do with before the project was launched the community already ran with the name, submitting images of rockets, space ships and astronauts. Nate, the logo creator, already put in serious time and work developing it, we kept it as is.
BTW, this is not specifically addressed at @Kresimir, I don’t know why I replied like that.
