Now I use Waterfox and know what people as @joekamprad use LibreWolf. Which difference?
I read that, but no big difference, if trust them
Well, I don’t know what else to say. There are differences, and they’re listed in the link. If that doesn’t satisfy your curiosity, install both and use them for a while. Any differences will become apparent.
9 out of 10 Herr Doktors recommend LibreWolf.
Yeah, three tablets daily and you’ll stay Hardened… I mean, immune, strengthened… you know ![]()
The synopsis after reading the article posted by @UncleSpellbinder earlier is
WaterFox - Focused on performance and compatibility, and user control
LibreWolf - Focused on privacy and security.
WaterFox has some security and privacy features but lags w.r.t LibreWolf in this department.
WaterFox has an org behind it. LibreWolf is a community project.
WaterFox binaries are signed. LibreWolf are not. With the recent spate of AUR attacks this is important.
Since LibreWolf is focused on privacy, website load times will be higher compared to WaterFox.
WaterFox uses Oblivious DNS (ODoH). This introduces a middle layer for DNS queries. In theory this might improve privacy. In reality there is nothing stopping the middle layer from harvesting and selling the data. User discretion is advised.
One thing about the article, it keeps on mentioning Free wolf. Wonder why that is so? Is this a LLM generated article?
it could be… or it could have been translated from another language, as each use of “Free wolf” appears to correspond to LibreWolf.
It is translated from the original article in Spanish. As the word “Libre” comes from Spanish and in English the only good translation would be to “Free”.
We need more such translations. It is surprising the number of German, French, Spanish, etc language content that is invisible or not accessible to us, i.e. English speaking folks.
