What does it mean that Endeavouros don't support XFCE

Does this mean that EOS Welcome and other "EOS APPS" will not be updated?

Where did you get that idea?

I’m just noob. So yes EOS apps will be updated on XFCE ?

Yes. Have you seen problems in XFCE?

EndeavourOS has an XFCE variant. So, yes… EOS Apps and EOS Welcome will be updated when updates are available. Just like any other DE EOS offers.

I’ve read that EndeavourOS dropped Xfce support for its live environment and offline installation option starting with the “Galileo” release, replacing it with KDE Plasma. That is why I’ve asked about EOS APPS

The text is unreadable. Would you just post it like black on white?

EOS has shifted from xfce to kde on the installer iso.

So what is offered is kde if you do an offline install.

You could do an online install and choose xfce as your desktop.

All the packages you will have installed on your system will be supported by Archlinux and some from EOS repo by EOS team.

I’ve never heard of EndeavourOS ending its support for XFCE. And as I said… EOS Apps and EOS Welcome will be updated when updates are available. Just like any other DE EOS offers.

where did that originate I wonder?

That means the ISO was changed to use Plasma desktop instead of Xfce.
Installed EndeavourOS systems support many different desktops, including XFCE, and will continue to do so.
EndeavourOS apps will be maintained for all supported desktops.

I’m running XFCE on 2 machines here, EOS for sure.
No problems so far, and I expect, it will stay…

Where from does this B.S. come???

Could be a language barrier. Not all users here are native English speakers, including me.

To add the my previous post, the ISO has two major install modes, online and offline.
In online mode we provide many alternative desktops to install.
In offline mode we will install Plasma desktop. Some years ago in offline mode we installed XFCE.

That’s the change. It didn’t affect EndeavourOS apps since they support all of our desktops.

I saw people get confused around Desktops and default and so on.
XFCE4 was the Desktop we used to provide the Live Session on the installer ISO for a long time. We only switched to use Plasma/KDE for the LiveISO session.

And there was a time before we invented the network installer, when only XFCE4 was specified as the only desktop.

Today there is no default desktop, just something that works easily and comfortably for us and the user as a desktop environment for the installer ISO.

All desktops can be installed online and set up to the extent that they are complete and provide all basic functions.

The only special feature is always the fallback offline installation, where the desktop used by the LiveSession (currently KDE/Plasma) will get installed only, the same system image is used that uses the live session and copied to the target device and set it up, just without having to load anything from the Internet.
