What are your top 5 distros?

Of course, we all know #1, though I am curious what are your top 5 distros in the order of what you prefer to use on a new device. I keep all 5 listed below on a Ventoy USB stick, just in case the need ever arises.

#1. EndeavourOS
#2. Artix
#3. Arch
#4. Debian
#5. openSUSE

Gonna have to pick what works ootb for me on this one. No biases.

Archcraft :hushed:
ArcoLinux :astonished:
LMDE :scream: ← changed from MX Linux because LMDE now has everything I need in a backup system
Endeavour OS :face_exhaling:
Ubuntu Studio :grimacing:

#1 EndeavourOS
#2 Arch
#3 Archcraft
#4 Garuda
(For now I have only used these distros but since a few months ago I only use EndeavourOS)

EndeavourOS
Ubuntu
OpenSUSE

  1. EndeavourOS
  2. EndeavourOS
  3. EndeavourOS
  4. EndeavourOS
  5. EndeavourOS.

I’ve never used anything else since I used EOS. The last other distro I used was back when I’m still a student in college (2013-2017), Ubuntu Gnome (discontinued), Linux Lite, Fedora and ElementaryOS.

EndeavourOS got me by the balls and I love it.

Been on this block long enough that I have only one and that is my Daily. If that wasn’t what I wanted then at this point I would just make my own. However since I neither have the time nor the actual desire to maintain a distro (even if for ones self)

I guess to some and OS is like clothing but to me its not that interchangeable.

Hmmm, I can remember the last few I’ve used or installed for others

  1. EOS (and Arch)
  2. Mint
  3. MX however have stopped using this lately as it is very bloated

EndeavourOS
Ubuntu Server
Manjaro (for now, going to switch to EOS)
Linux mint

Besides the above i played a little with:
Haiku (OS2 clone/reincarnation)
ReactOS (Windows alternative)

I’ve used a few distros but two of those are not applicable in the sense of the word. RaspberryPi OS. Would never run this unless on a Raspberry Pi. I’ve also used Manjaro and, no. Not Manjaro.

So. That leaves me with 2 distros.

  1. EndeavourOS
  2. Ubuntu

I left Ubuntu. Will not be going back.
If Endeavour would magically dissapear and I had to choose something else I’d go Arch. If no arch then I’d probably try both Void and Nix.
Apart from that, Debian I guess.

Seen this mentioned quite a bit, I might have to give it another go. The last time I tried it I just found there was too much already setup for me.

Same; I always have MXlinux in my ventoy usb drive to use as recovery tool to help family and friends when winBlows crash or get infected by viruses/rootkits.
It became bloated, but sometimes helpful…

I’m under the same opinion with MX I used to love using this and would often install it for others or just use it as a bit of a playground but these days too much bloat included
