the first 4 lines are the hook and try hard but still I liked hearing DLR play the blues. it was released Christmas Eve according to freetube, who suggested it:

Kinda glad to see Roth still out there doing his thing

I forgot how vulnerable and raw this was and I just listened to it. my god. Not cheesy; it had dignity.

Judee Sill, “The Kiss” (1973)

Judee’s short, difficult life ended in 1979:

But she did a lot of drugs, including heroin, when she could get it. She was never able to keep a job. (Quite possibly she did some prostituting at this point of her life…) … The next time I saw her, the career was over. No more records. Her producers had insisted she pay her dues by opening concerts for other acts, which she did a couple of times, but she found it too painful. When she refused to do it any longer the producers dropped her.

This is the full version of the dandadan anime ending, with a unique (similar but not same) music video.

This band really amazes me, not only are their songs really good in general, they also have some of the best music videos I’ve ever seen.

Such as these two in particular:

Several times i’ve just randomly clicked one of their vids and everytime i’ve been impressed.

But since I was just finishing up dandadan, that’s naturally what I was listening to, sincei t’s the ending theme  personally I think the anime itself was decent but overrated, however I enjoyed watching that ed every single time.

North American Indigenous Hip-Hop/Rap

Couple of minutes ago I was unaware that there is this genre of hip-hop/rap sung by indigenous people.

Now I do.

There’s a lot of indigenous music with a modern approach that’s been gaining popularity over the years. This is one of my favorites…

heartbreaking read re: the kneeling article. what a tortured life

yes, there’s a tv station (in my neck o’ the woods) that plays an hour of indigineous videos a day and I love the listening. many are from Canadian and Midwestern tribal areas. they add a diffrent dimension to the musical landscape. Trudell is an important figure to the kids making this music and especially the lyrics. he is worth reading about.

Lanegan is probably one the greatest lesser-known American singer-songwriters and I think he wanted it that way. Chelsea Wolfe I am just discovering now. She is stunning as Lucinda Williams as a writer. This collaboration left me speechless (I like simple stuff anymore). Edit: she wrote this

Absolutely sublime… mesmerizing… beautiful.
