… Down in the park
Where the madmen meet
The machines play’kill-by-number’
Down in the park with a friend called ‘five’
… I was in a car crash
Or was it the war
But I’ve never been quite the same
Little white lies like “I was there”
… Come to “tom-tom’s” a place to eat
Like it was built in one day
You can watch the humans try to run
… Oh look, it’s a rape machine
I’d go outside
If he’d look the other way
You wouldn’t believe
The things they do
… We are not lovers
We are not romantics
We are here to serve you
A different face but the words never change
… Down to the park
Where the chant is “death, death”
Until the sun cries morning
Down in the park with friends of mine
We are not lovers
We are not romantics
We are here to serve you
A different face but the words never change
We are not lovers
We are not romantics
We are here to serve you
We are not lovers
We are not romantics
We are here to serve you
We are not lovers
We are not romantics
We are here to serve you
We are not lovers
We are not romantics
We are here to serve you
that song was off one of his EPs. This is an amazing version. I had to look up Price and his old band. In fact I need to find Price’s star-studded EP Weatherless. Price has a new fan.
This was a really nice cover.
nice. Heart was frantic and and weird the way I like it but wow, Another Room was really moving.
Such a Brit vibe to these ears, for a guy that came out of the post-CBGB NYC scene and Mass.
He also worked with Frank Black. That I have to find! (Matthew Sweet at that time of We’re the Same was using Lou Reed’s eary 90’s band (robert quine, fred maher) so it’s possible Price knew all of them and remembered the song.
You like these less-known singer/songwriters. As do I. You mentioned a guy in NM one time that was interesting. He reminded me of Hans Olson from the next state over.
I’m eating a lot of bandwidth enjoying your music! rock on
