Don’t call me an expert, but both findings of traur here are kind of “works as designed” - you need priv escalation to the gui, otherwise it won’t work (it calls pacman at the end, which needs sudo), and you need to give several arguments over to it, for example if pacman answers with a set of options.
Maybe you post it over here and ask if it is really bad:
I don’t think that a GUI package manager is doable without those to functions, but again: I am just an amateur, no expert…
