When we started this project, we created it with the community in mind. With this mindset, EndeavourOS made this community its standout asset.
It’s a fact that the friendly vibe over here is infamous all over the Linux space, and it is where you all shine as bright as the sun in doing that.
The community has grown, and with growth, new issues arise.
Since our team is very small, we cannot handle “guarding” the forum topics to our rules. The task has become too big to do nowadays.
We all know that we are living in a time of turmoil, and judging from the Lounge topics, politics and religion are harder to separate from the forum these days.
This is why we are going to say goodbye to the Lounge category; it simply cannot be moderated anymore by the small team we have.
There will be a new lounge-like category, but with stricter rules in terms of topics. I will inform you about that upcoming category when it is launched. I can tell you that the music and jokes threads will not return in the new category, since those threads are the most vulnerable, containing politics, religion, or even insulting other members.
I know this decision will impact the flow of the forum, and I’m completely aware of the unpopularity of this decision by most of you.
Trust me, I’m doing this with a heavy heart, but for the plain sanity of the team, I feel there is no other choice, than this one.
