Dear All,
Please forgive me; if i chose the wrong section.
Using device:
EndeavourOS
Laptop Dell Graphics : Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 620
6.12.17-1-lts
KDE 6.3.2
X11 (Wayland not working)
1.After an update $yay -Syu pamac-aur
Wayland fails to load KDE, so i have to use X11
Will deleting this file help?
~/.config/kwinoutputconfig.json
I get this now, when i try to update via terminal…
error: failed retrieving file ‘community.db’ from ftp.rnl.tecnico.ulisboa.pt : The requested URL returned error: 404
error: failed retrieving file ‘community.db’ from arch.mirror.hyperbit.it : The requested URL returned error: 404

error: failed retrieving file ‘community.db’ from mirror.juniorjpdj.pl : The requested URL returned error: 404
…
When I run an update I normally see below, what should i press please?
(i just press the ENTER button on the keyboard):
Packages to exclude: (eg: “1 2 3”, “1-3”, “^4” or repo name)
→ Excluding packages may cause partial upgrades and break systems
Is there a way to update without being prompted to agree (Y/N); in the middle of the upgrade?
(Eg. #dnf upgrade -y on CentOS based distros)
Last question please?
Which repo is best AUR or archlinux.org? So many info online that Arch linux repos are problematic etc. I just want to use arch based distros…i find the distros more active than debian or rhel based.
The [community] repository has been removed. You can fix this by updating your /etc/pacman.conf file. Details are here:
Generally speaking, you should favour the official packages first (archlinux.org), if reliability is important to you. If you have more specific needs such as a custom build, -git version, or something not available in the official repos, then you might consider the AUR.
Discretion is needed when using the AUR though. Packages there can be added by anyone, so there is potential for abuse, although I’m not aware of any personally. The community is fairly self-regulating around that.
What the guys above said, but also:
You should probably use openSUSE Tumbleweed if being up-to-date while having less maintenance and/or DIY aspects to deal with is a combo you need.
You’ve marked this as solved? I hadn’t personally addressed issue #1 in my earlier responses.
With respect to deleting ~/.config/kwinoutputconfig.json to hopefully resolve Wayland loading, I suggest renaming that file instead, so you can always revert should you wish to.
