Was installing EndeavourOS in a Virtual Machine and something strange (or probaly normal happened)

So when I was first going through the online setup, after getting everything going, it was apparently ready to boot into the installation and not my ISO, and even after unmounting it, it wouldn’t boot out of live mode.I also left my pc unattended the first time it was installing, which is something important to note.

So I tried to reinstall it, and this time, I was noticing in task manager on my Windows 10 host, it was taking 20%-40% of the network (i was on wireless so i believe that’s how much resources the is used on the card if im not mistaken), I was doing the online install again so I was like “it’s just installing updates, that’s probably okay” even though it’s not something most programs do

but it went all the way up to 100% and i was like, “umm…maybe i should kill the vm just to be safe” and so i did

It was probaly just trying to install the updates really fast but I wasn’t sure, I did do the ingetrty check before running the ISO like I was supposed to and everything came back okay.

So it should be fine yes? Just wanna make sure

It’s normal for any application to try and pull data from the internet at the fastest speed it is able. Imposed speed caps are not the default.

So yes, in principle a 100% network usage is good, because it means it’s pulling data efficiently.

As for integrity, if you’ve confirmed the officially published checksums match your install media, then that’s about as close as you can get to certain that the integrity is :+1:
