Aahhh, I remember my first Interrail trip to Amsterdam back in 1987. Sitting in Hard Rock Coffeeshop, watching MTV all day long stoned as hell

It was called MTV superrock. I just needed to google it after a few vodkas. Memory unlocked.

MTV came out in the 80s and kicked off the dark decade of no talent music

Good days before social media and brain-rot apps. I feel old. :joy:

Not even remotely accurate. One hell of a lot of FANTASTIC music came was released in the 80’s. AFTER the 80’s music started to take a nose dive.

To each is your own. From the Billboard list there were 2 albums on there I own and one wasn’t even made in the 80s. The one in the 80’s top single list was U2.

Both statements are subjective nonsense. I never heard of some of the groups on the site, but most of what I saw are commercialized, bubble gum, music. It s interesting that the actual song, " I want my mtv" is no where to be seen on that site. Also, no black sabbath, no pink floyd, no jeff beck, and the list goes on…Of course, those artists are part of my own subjective nonsense :sign_of_the_horns:

I loved the insanity of the 80’s: Thompson Twins, ABC, Duran, Adam Ant, B52s, Echo, Furs–this is coming from a punk (me) who put Clash, Lou and Iggy and Bowie and Mick and Keith near the top.

The music died for me when the Seattle scene hit. Blech. (Mark Lanegan excluded).

As mentioned by many in this thread: it’s all subjective!

“I don’t like any nostalgia unless it’s my own”–Lou Reed

LONG LIVE Beavis & Butthead!

I’m sorry but give it a huge rest, cause you’re not going to convince me.

@sempterobit since your statement is pure bull you might want to keep it to yourself, and let those that actually enjoyed the great music of the 80’s enjoy this thread.

See @drunkenvicar post cause they’re right the the Seattle scene hit in the 90’s. I should know I lived in Seattle from June 84 til May 2028.

This strange white powder left its mark on the 80s. Just sayin’ … :face_with_peeking_eye:

80s were everything but with more colors, faster, louder and eccentric. Bowie was the living proof.

Don’t get me wrong 80s music was great, but it was under heavy influence :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry but you’ll have to wait til after January 2029 before things start coming back down in price.

I’m sorry, there was just an incident between China and Taiwan. Please don’t call before 2039.
