Wallpaper Question

I am curious as to if a .gif file can be used as a wallpaper and if so how would one go about setting it up? I know about using png, jpg, jpeg and other files but am wondering about using a .gif file. For instance if I wanted to use this file, would it be possible? Thanks!

Pretty sure there were addons for kde plasma that would do that, not sure if they continue to work in plasma 6. I know a lot of third party plugins were never updated.

Can be set by default under KDE now, I have made a few animated wallpapers that are gifs

Would depend on your DE more than likely

Oh, cool. Didn’t know it was part lf the desktop now. Time to experiment.

Ok, thanks for all of the responses! Most likely would be a no-go for me since I use openbox window manager and not a DE. I thought I would ask. Thanks everyone!

Did a quick search and came across this

It is also in the AUR
