Video bad after Update

Just occasionally, after every 5 or 6 updates, after reboot I get a generic low res VGA screen.

I check drivers says all installed, then remove nvidia-580xx-dkms, nvidia-580xx-utis and nvidia-580xx-settings. Then reinstall them and we’re back to normal. Any Ideas?

What does inxi -Gaz return? Can you check your systemd journal for errors regarding DKMS? I’ve had this happen when using the CachyOS repos (Nvidia modules are pre-compiled), but never with DKMS.

Welcome back @trelane :waving_hand::smiley: :enos_flag:

Can you also share the output of:

yay -Q | grep headers

And perhaps a little more info on @ajgringo619’s inxi command to catch what kernel you’re running:

inxi  -SGaz

Thanks guys, I don’t see anything unusual in systemd journal.

I suspect this only happens on major updates. So this is just a me issue?
