Hello! I’m quite new, however I’ve encountered a bit of a strange bug.
Been on linux for just short of a week and I’ve been playing CS" (I’m not using gamescope and im not using proton either, I’m just running it natively)
Everything has been running absolutely great, up until tonight. My PC randomly rebooted itself (it didnt blue screen, it just kind went black for a second, came back on, got me to log back in etc. No restart button was hit accidentally or anything. Since that;s happened I’ve had a very weird bug in cs2
So, I play stretched resolution, upon going back into my cs video settings it was on windowed mode. Any attempt to change this results in an instant freeze of CS2, I can still alt tab and close it. As soon as i select fullscreen windowed it changes to fullscreen windowed but instantly freezes the screen, the music still plays etc, I cannot clikc anything on cs2, I can only alt-tab and close it. I can happily change resolutions in the windowed mode setting.
I also noticed when right clicking the cs2 icon on the taskbar, and pressing more > fullscreen. This also has the same issue of instantly freezing the game.
A plasma renderer icon appeared at the bottom that warned me it was set to “software”, I had a quick search about this and after set it back to “automatic”, the warning went away after a reboot but the problem still persists. I don’t understand how it can be working absolutely fine one second for the space of a week and now is just completely broken
I checked to see if my NVIDIA drivers had changed, there has been no changes since the install on the 16th
I have an i7 10700k and a 3070, i consistently get 300+ frames in cs2 and now unless im on windowed mode I dont get a single 1, windowed still shows the menu as being 260+fps
I’ve had a search online and I really cannot find a thing that can help me, please help me fix this!
