So sorry for the long delayed reply, have been super busy. I don’t know if you fixed it but I just made a small edit.
I got a new laptop recently and just tried to follow my own guide step for step and I found an error.
In the part where you set the crypttab, there was a space which should not be there.
The fido2 part of crypttab should be
luks,fido2-device=auto
with no space between luks, the comma, and fido2. My original had a space there
When I tried my guide through again, I got the symptom of it just asking for password, so hopefully this was the issue for you as well.
Re. the necrobump, if there is a more appropriate place for a guide, I could move the post, or perhaps edit archwiki?
