I wanted to try Linux on my new laptop as I was curious, installed Pop OS to give it a go, and found out it was not for me. After finding a video about some other arch-based distros to try, I decided to give EndeavourOS a shot. I love it, even when I accidentally nuked my previous install, I decided to stay on the distro and not hop, as the community is really helpful. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, though. I have some hiccups here and there that irritate me, though, I would like to figure out how to solve them. Although, still look forward to any more endeavours on this journey through Linux.
this ^^ is the essence of Linux sometimes but the more you troubleshoot the faster you can remedy things and people here reply to a jam in seconds…
I can’t think of a single hiccup that ever happened that made me wish I was using Windows.
Hi @pixeltime and welcome to the -Forum. Enjoy your purple ride. I sincerely hope that whatever is irritating you can be fixed. The community here is really very helpful
Hahaha, I have far more hiccups in Windows. In fact, I booted over there recently to test something out (not sure what just now) and OMG, couldn’t get back to Linux land fast enough!
It’s (in my opinion) easier to solve problems/issues in Linux than Windows…you just have to live with most of it there.
Hi @pixeltime, welcome
hope so, its a suspend issue with my nvidia gpu, been bugging me since pop os
yeah, i was aware that linux has a lot of troubleshooting, at this point im used to going into terminal to troubleshoot errors
I did ponder for some time if I should try an Arch-based OS again, after having tinkered with “naked” Arch and ArcoLinux for some time in the past, and never got so far as to get a machine that simply works and could be used for my everyday tasks.
EOS really changed that, starting with the super-easy install, selection of the DE I chose (Cinnamon, coming from Mint), the ease of installing software, and of course the helpful people here, should a problem arise.
I still use Mint on some »bread-n-butter« machines, but EOS made me love Arch (and EOS!) again, since it’s now just usable for real work. Not just for theme or wallpaper tinkering, but real everyday work. And it’s still so much “pure” Arch, which is useful, helpful. EOS have done it right!
Of course something breaks once in a while, usually not for long, which is to be expected in a rolling release. But that happens far, far less often than I expected. And you find great help here.
EDIT: Oh, and welcome to the community, @pixeltime!
Your opinions are on spot. . . well said.

Thanks! I am already used to the arch way of troubleshooting stuff and as a beginner, I didn’t want to try arch from scratch, so I needed a hand to hold. That hand was in the form of EOS and it’s community.
Welcome, @pixeltime ! The hands here are helpful and the basis is rock solid.
Hi @pixeltime and welcome. Nice to know there is yet another user finding EOS and liking what they found.
Keep up the tinkering, the breaking and the learning. It’s just the road to make your system yours. Just give it some time.
