User@961.service is not active, cannot reload

Everytime I update something I get errors something like this

:: Running post-transaction hooks...
(1/9) Reloading system manager configuration...
(2/9) Reloading user manager configuration...
user@961.service is not active, cannot reload.
error: command failed to execute correctly
(3/9) Restarting marked services...

(9/9) Performing snapper post snapshots for the following configurations...

What is this service and how to activate or remove it if necessary?

I don’t really know what this is about but maybe this command can tell what is that user:

awk -F: '{ print $1, $3 }' /etc/passwd

I see sddm 961 there. :man_shrugging:

systemctl status user@961.service

What is the output?

I am not sure why this happens but it looks that the account for the user sddm has had an expiration date set and now it has expired.

You can try enabling the account and set it to never expire again:

sudo chage -E -1 sddm

Reboot.

Enabled and rebooted as suggested.

Now systemctl status user@961.service shows
