Hi… after every update, the process ends with the message below. Is this normal and to be ignored?
AUR update check:
:: Searching AUR for updates…
→ Missing AUR Packages: grub-tools grub2-theme-endeavouros nvidia-installer-db nvidia-installer-dkms
there is nothing to do
Press ENTER to close this window:
These are all packages that have been removed from out repos.
It is up to you if you want to keep them or remove them. I would remove
nvidia-installer-dkms. Those are old scripts for installing nvidia drivers.
grub2-theme-endeavouros is the grub theme that comes up when you reboot the computer. If you choose to remove it, be sure to also change the grub config to not use it anymore.
grub-tools is the automation we used to provide around grub. It is up to you if you want to keep or remove this.
Thank you @dalto for your reply. This EOS installation functions perfectly. If these packages will not cause problems I will leave them alone.
Was the grub theme indefinitely removed? I quite liked its look. Default grub looks plain and boring
Yes. We now use a background instead of the full theme.
You can continue to use the theme if you still have it installed.
I do not, but I also dont have a background. How do I install that?
Ensure you have the package
endeavouros-theming installed and then add this to your
sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
