So about two hours ago I updated EOS then rebooted system to apply changes. Now I can’t use discord app or discord on browser, neither can play youtube videos on any browser, everytime I tried it system “crashes” and does a kind of mini reboot where everything freezes and goes to lockscreen/login screen. I log again and it’s like I rebooted system and have to open everything again but when I try to do one of the actions I mentioned before the same mini reboot happens. Also this occurs when I leave pc idleing for 10 minutes or less. What should I do? Thanks for your help.

When I look at your system specs it reads that you have only 2.5 g memory installed that looks (to say the least) a bit tight to me. Could there be a problem with your memory ?
I doubt it, because I’ve been using the same machine with same specs and programs like brave or discord worked fine for me until this update, even now I can use brave and other programs at the same time without problems just I can’t play videos or can’t enter to discord. Before the update I could have 2 youtube tabs playing videos at the same time.
When if I look at your BIOS date from 2008 , it wouldn’t be strange if something brakes , just like that. But if you know for sure you have more than 2,5 gb , inxi doesn’t show it.
Well now I discovered another error, I tried to reinstall EOS from the usb I got but when I try to get into EOS live session system boots normally from HDD even when I exclude it from boot sequence or maybe am I doing something wrong so I can’t get into live session?
How it went?
Troubleshooting:
- Install LTS kernel and see if it happens as well?
- What browser do you use? Did you try another one? Looks like issue with video decoding
- Is your BIOS up to date?
- Crash also happens on system update? Very strange
Not being able to boot ? Did you check your BIOS settings and searched how to change boot priority? How did you create live USB ?
BTW. Did you see: How to fix broken video (youtube / rumble etc) after pipewire update ?
Pipewire thingy is not much reliable
This is probably only an issue on long lived Endeavour installs (that had pulseaudiooriginally)
I had issues with youtube videos for months - & finally fixed it properly recently by installing pipewire-pulse (which removed pulseaudio)
