Am new to Endeavor/Arch.
Some updates were performed when I tried the "Update Native and AUR packages using the Welcome app.
BOTH other update apps crapped out when they hit the dep issue below:
==> eos-update
I do not use pppoe (cable internet user)I connect directly to my firewall and that connects directly to the Cable modem. I am sure you’re all familiar.
I simply want to know if I can ignore this dep error or if I should try to omit the ppp 2.5.2-1 update somehow and get the erst of the updates?
I want to get some peace of mind that this update, if ignored, will not somehow break something else I depend on. I can’t see how that can be but better to ask and not have to reinstall or recover a broken OS.

You should be very cautious of ignoring an update to a package and updating the rest of the system.
That means that those two packages are out of alignment which is odd. Try resorting your mirrors and see if it works after that.

I did run all three update mirror routines from the welcome app first. Then, ran all three update packages routine.
==> yay
I thught that yay had updated some but not others but it seems like it has failed to update anything also. I understand this is by design and for the best. TYVM.
Last quetsion: Do dep issues usually clear up on their own within a certain amount of time or is this it…I am stuck with the packages I have until I fix something?

Try opening /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist and commenting out the first mirror on the list and then run sudo pacman -Syu
Most dependency issues are caused by AUR packages or 3rd party repos and in these cases you often need to take an action to resolve it.
However, that is not the case here. This seems more like a mirror issue where the mirror you are connected to is not updated. It is possible that waiting would resolve the issue but I would switch to a different mirror and see if that fixes it.

What I did this time was I only updated the Update Mirrors (Arch, reflector simple)’

Keep in mind, there are a bunch of options there. You don’t have to run all of them every time.
If you did an offline install, it is normal to see a huge amount of updates the first time.
You need to let it proceed though. It looks like you cancelled out of it.
OK I have run the second updater and have 2 concerns: numbered to make it easy to search through the garbage.
Number 1. This is at the very end of the second update routine–it is waiting for me to type something and I am unsure if it should be quit or continue or yes or OK, etc,etc.

You should press q . However, in this case, you don’t need that package. So remove it before you update.
sudo pacman -R python-future
That is a nuisance error, you can ignore it.
