That’s potentially good news. Though I have a feeling new Unity won’t be as good as old Unity – simply because that’s the direction in which things tend to develop…
I used 'Buntu for many years, and most of that time I was quite unsatisfied with it, but tolerated it (pretty much ever since the initial enthusiasm of using Linux faded). Forcing users to swtich from Unity to GNOME was the last straw, which caused me to distrohop. Sure, they sold my data to Amazon, they pushed this snapcrap on me, but GNOME?!?? The line had to be drawn somewhere.
