Thanks for the detailed reply. Should have thought of that if you work with these images, you probably also scale them in GIMP.

I can compare what you sent with the results of my function to see if my method is still sufficient, so problem solved.

Regarding the resolution: It’s a laptop, released Oct 2013 (so 12 years ago). The reason why I chose this weird QHD+: It’s either that or nothing with this thing, I kid you not. :laughing:

The laptop has exactly two options:

  • run it at 3200x1800
  • run it at 1600x900.

So for me it is: Choose 3200x1800 or don’t run it at all (1600x900 is not really an option).

Thanks also for the Blue Planets pic – makes a nice wallpaper, maybe I can get it to work as a GRUB background as well.
