Unauthorized memory access (SIGSEGV) VLC, BibleTime, Telegram

Hello, have you had various applications become disabled after the latest updates? Almost all of them report Unauthorized memory access (SIGSEGV) to me in the terminal. Interesting that even a clean installation of Arch Linux behaved strangely today after the update. Both arch and EndeavorOS did not show shutdown buttons in Cinnamon.

Welcome to the community @michal :waving_hand::smiley: :enos_flag:

Which type of kernel are you running (eg: standard, lts, zen, hardened)?

inxi -SM

Are you using Firejail, or AppArmor?

The shutdown button missing in Cinnamon might (hopefully) just be a temporary regression. I’m not running it, so I can’t confirm if the issue is consistent here.

I’m able to confirm vlc 3.0.23_2-6 and bibletime-git 2:3.2.0.r18-1 are launching without issue here under linux-zen 7.0.11.zen1-1.

You might also share the output of:

yay -Q | grep -E "vlc|bibletime|telegram" | grep -v plugin

Thank you for your response. I didn’t change the kernel, I’m using the one that was selected during installation.

I do not install Firejail, or AppArmor.

I delete setting file vlc, biletime and works now.

But when delete settings files in Telegram nothing happend

QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0, type: 2

I try clean install OS.
