Unable to update EndeavourOS mirrorlist

I’m getting this error:

Writing new ranked EndeavourOS mirrorlist to /etc/pacman.d/endeavouros-mirrorlist.
Root Password:
su: Authentication failure

What I tried:

  1. entered the correct password. didnt work.
  2. redid the ranking, entered the correct password. didnt work.
  3. tried to search for a solution. no luck.
  4. posted here :smiley:

What do you think was the correct password? With su, you need to supply the password used by root. With sudo, it’s your password.

I was so annoyed by this behavior that I switched authentification to sudo instead of su, because I always used the wrong password as a force of habit.
