UMIK-1 & ThinkPad x220i

Friends, help me out… I don’t have enough brains to solve this charade.
I purchased the UMIK-1 measuring microphone because I’m interested in tinkering with it. Two computers, both with Endeavour OS installed. Only one is a more or less modern Intel N100 miniPC, and the other is a fifteen-year-old ThinkPad x220i.
So UMIK-1 is displayed correctly in the REW program without any problems with miniPC. And it works in REW without any problems.
However, when used with a ThinkPad, the microphone is detected by the system and the REW program suggests using it for measurements. But at the very attempt of any measurements, REW outputs such a window

It feels like something is preventing you from “fully” using an external USB microphone. But here’s what?
I searched the Internet for information, but I didn’t find anything useful.
Maybe someone knows some kind of “magic” to get around this?

As I understand it, this problem cannot be solved - this situation repeats with any other OS. Apparently, it’s a hardware incompatibility.
