Uhd 600 compatibility issue with 5.11 or newer kernel

Hi, I’m using EndeavourOS on an x86 tablet (chuwi h10xr), and it works really well, but I have to use linux-lts, because on 5.11 or newer kernel, I can’t set the brightness, and the screen can’t wake up from a suspended state. Neofetch info:

I looked up a few different forums, and this was the only thing I could find:

Regressions in newer kernels are not uncommon.

You can remain on linux-lts and keep checking linux as it is updated to see if it is fixed.

If not, or you want to be more pro-active, you can look at performing a kernel bisection to identify the specific commit that caused the problem and report it to the Linux kernel developers.

Thanks for your reply, while i’m doing the first part since a month or two, I have no idea how to do the second part. I know that that the first 5.11 upstream release had this issue, I do not know how to discover what commit did this.

Has the move to the 5.12 kernel helped with this? I seem to recall reading that it was supposed to fix a lot of regressions that 5.11 had.

I can only assume from the OP and the date it was posted (today) that they have tried 5.12.8 and it didn’t help. Otherwise, referring to an EOL kernel that was replaced in the repos several weeks ago would seem to be counterproductive.

5.12.8 still has this issue, i check it every few week, since the zen kernel gives significant performance boost on a hardware this weak.

Here’s my journalctl booting the zen kernel, but I couldn’t find anything related.

I just want to report, that the issue is finally fixed since kernel 5.14-2
