That’s where you wrong…You clearly has never lived in totalitarian states, usually when people understand why it’s super important - it’s already too late though.
Well…I still have friends

You should see them pull up in their clown car on weekends. There’s a whole crew in there
No I don’t live in a totalitarian state and if I do move to one in the future I expect my threat model will change. I tried using Session and found I couldn’t convince anyone else to use it.
Here you go!
Usually it’s the other way around - totalitarian state moves into your current state, and then prevents you from leaving
I know what you mean, most of it is growth pain - i’ve seen exactly same state of Signal before…Now it’s very normie-friendly though.
No longer. Most of my friends and family have uninstalled it because they dropped SMS support.
Pretty random, but let me just say:
I’m amazed by how many clown meme gifs you have readily available for casual daily use
Keep em coming
Oh come on. SMS support was totally absurd, it can’t be the reason.
It’s exactly the same as any other popular messengers in term of UI/UX now.
That’s the point. My social and familial circle had consolidated around WhatsApp long before. Signal was primarily an SMS client which sometimes allowed E2E encrypted conversations. Once they dropped that, it no longer had an edge over WhatsApp in their eyes. They were also pissed at losing SMS support.
Well i guess humanity is doomed then.
It will be divided on those who use Session (and alike) and those who don’t
I guess I’m just cursed to be surrounded by normies.
As a Canadian, I would never trust something made in Canada.
