Trying to execute a .run file returns with "Cannot mount AppImage, please check your FUSE setup." error

Hi, noob here. I’m trying to install DaVinci Resolve and it requires me to execute a .run file, but whenever i try to open it it gives me this error:

[ratmonarch@hams-laptop Downloads]$ sudo ./DaVinci_Resolve_18.6.3_Linux.run -i
[sudo] password for ratmonarch:
Something went wrong trying to read the squashfs image.
Cannot mount AppImage, please check your FUSE setup.
You might still be able to extract the contents of this AppImage
if you run it with the --appimage-extract option.
See https://github.com/AppImage/AppImageKit/wiki/FUSE
for more information
open dir error: No such file or directory

Not sure why this is happening?? i’m fairly new to linux, i switched maybe last month.
Any help is appreciated!

 I don’t remember ever having to do that. Have you looked at the wiki entry?

Do you have fuse2 installed?

Name : fuse2
Version : 2.9.9-4
Description : A library that makes it possible to implement a filesystem in a userspace program.

Pacman says i have it installed, i tried sudo pacman -S fuse2 and it said warning: fuse2-2.9.9-4 is up to date -- reinstalling

Is the module fuse loaded?

lsmod | grep fuse

Not sure if these may be needed as well:

squashfs-tools
squashfuse

Also, davinci-resolve is in the AUR. Why not install it from there?

I didn’t think to install it from the AUR lol. installing via yay now, my download speeds suck, but will get back when it’s done.
Thanks for the help!
