In fact, IBM and Commodore were working together on some things - interaction with Warp - use of Amiga Workbench 2.0 look and feel, and ReXX command language on the Amiga (AReXX) were parts of it. No wonder MS got out the big guns (Warp 4 was looking WAY too good - not to mention capable of running Windows programs directly!)
