If you guys were me which laptop would you go with this one (German I believe):
Or this bad boy (from the Netherlands I believe):
Due to personal debt that I have I’m not getting a computer for a while but I’ve been torn between these two manufacturers. I don’t even know if I’ll get either one of them because they’re so expensive but if I do drop a dime on then I was curious what you guys think is better?
To be honest when I’m debt free I’m probably just going to go with a low end Dell laptop Inspiron because they usually are compatible with Linux having AMD processors and all (& are cheap)
But these two manufacturers from Europe look badass to me. I love that they have Linux pre-installed on them too and you know it’ll work with Linux.
I have been lusting over both of them… Lol
The one that comes with tuxedo OS (the German manufacturer) I imagine tuxedo computers are compatible with endeavoros as well but idk. I’m not sure sure either. I imagine if it comes with Linux then you can just switch distos.
In the past I’ve only dealt with american-made computers but these European ones look like something I’m interested in and thought I’d ask for you guys two cents
No hurries like I said it’ll be a while before I get a computer
Hey there, I have a bit of experience with Tuxedo, their laptops are built quite well, but they are not very different to other hardware (including chassis) than other Linux-focussed Laptop-manufacturers, but they have good drivers and control software available. Their own TuxedoOS is built on an Ubuntu base, it was my way back to Linux as it takes out Snap and is using my beloved KDE instead of Gnome. Tuxedo has a helpful page on getting their control center and kernel drivers running on Arch (though selling their TuxedoOS as the better alternative, from a support point of view understandable) here: https://www.tuxedocomputers.com/en/Arch-Linux-and-Manjaro-on-TUXEDO-computers.tuxedo

EndeavourOS is basically Arch under the hood, so here you go
If your budget is a concern, might I suggest a different route? Here in Germany we have very good refurbishing sellers who are specialized in taking in corporate hardware and refurbishing them for private peeps, schools or even other companies. Many of those are Lenovo Thinkpads, which mostly run well with Arch-based distros: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Laptop/Lenovo
With the switch to Win11 only some older hardware, which may run well with EndeavourOS, might get dead cheap there.
Thank you so much for the information I will continue to look over this post a little bit more in-depth. It’s filled with good information for me. thank you thank you thank you.
I believe the Lenovo ThinkPad would be a good option for me considering my budget conscientious issues lol when I’m debt free I think that’s the way I’m going to go now thank you so much
Also I have no problem with the refurbished computer from Germany or wherever… I might just do some searching later on for that when I got the chance
My brother biological brother was just telling me today that ironically about how thinkpads are mostly compatible with Linux Arch Linux as well
Unless you’re shopping for a gaming laptop… If you’re trying to save money, I whole heartedly recommend visiting Dell Refurbished regularly. Great deals come up quite often, if you’re not in a hurry and can wait for the best offers that meet your requirements.
