using yay thunderbird displays a long list of possible Thunderbird versions.
The most visible is version 68 .
Wondering about a) upgrading to version 78 , b) finding the off-screen item # of version 78 ,
or c) just staying with version 68
(saw in a another posting mention of thunderbird-bin, that version is listed as out of date)
I’d stick with 68 until 78 is available via the repos.
Just been checking up on Arch development and spotted this:
I’d tried updating the PKGBUILD myself for 78.4.0 a couple of week ago but compilation got stuck. Looks like official packages are much closer now!
(I’m trying a build of this 78.4.1 PKGBUILD now… )

78 is a major change and will make changes to your profile that can’t be downgraded without possible data loss. i recommend making a copy of your profile folder before trying the upgrade.

upgraded today to 78 (made a b/u of mail cache) – all seems good, so far
I upgraded to 78, its working fine.
