Theming your Plasma Desktop by BONK

@BONK, quick question. I can not, for the life of me find the Win11OS-dark Kvantum package,
I’ve looked throughout the store, pling, and even tried manually entering the URL given in your photo.
No dice, I’m hit with a 404 Not Found.

Does it exist for you? If you still have, is it possible to upload here?

The move icon is for moving elements of the panel around. In your case, it sounds like those are all part of the task manager which is a single element. To reorder them, you just drag them where you want them. You do this when the panel is not in edit mode.

I- stand corrected, the page exists, and yet I cannot search for it. Thanks

Why is it that you need the kvantum manager? This is one of the things i don’t understand about KDE why aren’t all themes etc installed the same way as others like breeze?

Mostly for transparency effects and theming for QT apps. That said if you follow the same steps you can install just about any theme you want.

Depend which style you take kde also jas its own kde profile theme offcourse but kvantem somethings easier offcourse i guess

So what you are saying is kvantum manager is not just for a kvantum theme?

I was getting a LOT of 404 errors when installing themes etc in Plasma last week. Don’t know if Pling was having issues or what, but it was a right pain in the backside.

That site is like that. It has it’s good and bad days.

Great topic.

It looks fracking amazing. THAT is how a theme should look. Actual 3D buttons.

Too bad it’s only for GTK apps. If only he also made it for Qt. Then I would have the theme of my dreams.

I do not like the flat trend.

I had my flat time during Windows XP, there was a registry tweak where it was possible to make the classic theme flat.

I tried searching again for that Tweak to see if I can recreate it in a XP virtual machine, alas, it has been lost to time.

I am on the fence about 3D buttons and such, kind of reminds me of a child’s Playschool toy. I am expecting to hear a duck quack or fire siren when pressing.

3D/skeuomorphic look + work better on touch device. eye / brain trick think you push physical button. no much if use mouse /track-pad .

Folks, is there an easy way to make the taskbar transparent? Last time I checked (about 1,5 years ago) I just found solutions that needed you to edit a svg file but I just couldn’t figure out how this works.

Install it (use the 0.2.0.plasmoid version), add it to a panel, enable it (it has an option to set a shortcut, that’s a really good idea), and the panel will be transparent.

Thank you! But I’m afraid its not really what I’m looking for because

Would prefer to be able to adjust the level of transparency.
Well, it’s not really that important, I can live with a non-transparent bar but still I hope KDE will add an option for this sometime.
