My weekend Linux project was:
Fire up Heroic launcher.
Fire up Guardians of the Galaxy which I got as a freebie from Epic Games.
Spend several hours shooting things and blowing sh*t up.
Happy days.
So, all fired up for the coming week, then?
heheheh ready to take on the world, even the galaxy.
My weekend plans was:
Download .NET 8.0.0
Configure code editor and sync it with github
Some practice with c#
Think about AUR supremacy
Iām going to endeavour!
I will update both computers. And then likely everything will still work as it did so Iāll head to the shooting range because my normal weekend work is done.
Tomorrow I will be installing FreeBSD to my secondary tower. Not exactly a Linux project, but Iāll be replacing Linux with FreeBSD, soā¦kinda Linux related .
Iāve been running FreeBSD in a VM for well over a year. Itās been 100% trouble-free and stable.
Was this the Solydxk computer?
Arch. Solyd used to be the primary towerās daily driver. Now the drive lives on outside of any computer, it gets plugged in and updated about once a month. On each anniversary of the install date I use it for 2-3 days. Itās made it to 10 years so far.
Thatās just impressive none the less.
So why freebsd as opposed to Linux? Iāve never really tried the BSD systems.
Just something different. Arch is so freakinā stable, I get bored sometimes (FreeBSD is stable, too, but itās quite different from Linux). Plus FreeBSD reminds me of the good olā days when I used Unix and early Linux distros.
I have never had a look at distrobox.
I hope to find time this weekend to install a test system to try distrobox on.
Iām happy my System runs smoothly. Nothing to do here
Me too ā¦Plasma 6 all the way!
Well, my new monitor arrives tomorrow. So first Iāll swap out the old Vizio Iām currently using with the new Asus. And since I have a new install (installed Monday morning), this will be my first weekend with EndeavourOS. Iāll probably spend some time tweaking and testing themes.
This week i wiped my old laptop on which i tested Plasma 6. Then i installed EOS XFCE on it. This weekend i will probably spend some time to do some tinkering to adjust it to my needs and likes.
Or I may decide to install another distro all together.
A laptop had 2 gigs of corrupted systemd journal entries. Reinvigorated my hatred of cancerous systemd, so Iāll revisit Artix on it.
I was working on a thing in bash to move all the files in ~ with a certain extension to a desired directory, like itād move all of your .pngs to ~/Images, had some troubles with ls appending a colon at the end of every directory and im still working on it actuallyā¦ maybe ill make a suggestion in the git repoā¦
I am finally ready to set up emulation on my Steam Deck. Weāll see how it goes. Thereās lots of options.
