I cannot run testdisk in alacritty in a human needable way 
when i first run testdisk in alacritty I get this screen
I tap the q key to quit log view and a black screen the only way to see is hightlight the whole terminal
Testdisk runs fine on xfce4-terminal just have the problem with alacritty.
Seems like a theming-issue. Many community-themes do not work as expected on customized layouts.

I suppose your right. This has been an issue for quite some time however i just have used xfce4-terminal when I need to run test disk so i forget it happens at times until I inadvertently am in alacritty and run testdisk.
