Systemd-oom conf and swapiness version 248

hello

since few days , we have a new version file
in /etc/systemd/oom.conf

it containe theses values

[OOM]
#SwapUsedLimit=90%
#DefaultMemoryPressureLimit=60%
#DefaultMemoryPressureDurationSec=30s

we have also this config file
/etc/sysctl.d/99-swapiness.conf

i have so some questions
1 - is systemd-oomd override swapiness
2 - should be a review values
3 - is there any risk between theses 2 parameters
4 - wiki archlinux is not up to date

No, those values control the thresholds at which OOM killer takes action. As far as I know, they don’t have any impact on swap itself.

The meanings are described in the man page.

If you set them too low, it could cause processes to be killed more aggressively than you want them to.
