System volume keeps dropping to zero for firefox

Hi everyone,

I have just installed EOS and I am finding that the volume in the system tray for application firefox drops to zero for each time I come across a noisy item in Imgur. I have not tried any other websites just yet. Is there a setting protecting me from sudden noise?

Youtube keeps volume when going from one clip to the next. Perhaps it is just Imgur?

I think I found the answer - the tab I had imgur in had the speaker icon crossed out (Mute) - that may have been setting the per-application volume to zero each time I went to the next post.
