System sometimes freezes after update and reboot

good morning,
I hope this is the right forum to post this question of mine.
Sometimes, after an update at the end of which I’m asked to reboot, when I reboot (with terminal command ‘rebboot’), on reboot - after entering the passworld - the system freezes. at that point I’m forced to use the magic combination REISUB, so it reboots and doesn’t give me that problem anymore.
it doesn’t always do it… just a few times (though often).
does anyone else have the same problem??? do you have any idea what it could be?

I have had this happen a few times on one machine where after installing updates and re-booting
the system it locks up at the startup opening screen where you enter your password to finish the boot. It some times freezes and I cannot enter the password because the cursor isn’t allowing it. May not be the same problem as yours but close. So I restart the computer but shutting down and restarting the computer via the power button. Having done this for the second time this problem clears up and I can then see the system start up as normal throughout the whole process. I don’t use the REISUB as you do but this is what happens. . . . Don’t know why either.

Rich;)
