System not booting | starting version 247.2-1-arch

Hi there

Since yesterday evening my system won’t boot anymore… It gets stuck at starting version 247.2-1-arch

The weird part is that the linux-lts kernel seems to work… Meaning that I can log in into my system.

Could it be related to a graphics driver problem?

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers

Welcome aboard!

Yes, possibly. To find more we need logs. For example:

inxi -Fxxxz
eos-log-tool # select at least 'journalctl -b -1'

More info about giving logs:

Thanks for the reply

Here’s the inxi log:

and here’s the eos-log-tool log (I selected journalctl -b -1 and journalctl -b -2):

Maybe the lightdm logs will help too

you can try to remove xf86-video-intel and make use of the modesetting driver from inside kernel:
login from TTY2: Ctrl+Alt+F2 login with username and password the remove the driver:
sudo pacman -R xf86-video-intel
reboot and it will boot on modesetting intel driver…

Thanks for your tip

I removed the xf86-video-intel package and I can finally boot into the newer kernel again!

Thank you so much for your time and help

PS: Would you care to explain the differences between the offical intel-video-driver and the modesetting one? I’m not that tech-savvy…
