System Freezes While Gaming

Did the definition of talent change recently?

Anyway. Welcome to the forum! :vulcan_salute: :enos_flag:

Based on your system specs, you SHOULD have no issues running games on Linux.

However, it’s not just your system that matters when it comes to running games on a platform they were not made for. Your settings, install method like game launchers and libraries or WINE, the game itself, et cetera matters as well.

  • Now, you said Proton. Is it Steam or direct Proton? Or Lutris, Heroic, etc?
  • Did you try to use Gamescope, EnvyControl, or a similar tool?
  • You said it happens with “every” game. Which ones? Again, this matters.
  • You may also want to try Hyprland for gaming on Linux. It’s surprisingly fantastic for gaming. You can install it alongside KDE, and they will work together without issues. I’ve been using it for the past week and a half for gaming (and general use) with no issues.

Also, have you met Ted?
