Sway community edition should not have been released XD Anyway thx for trying
it is not the Sway… the script listen to the system setting.
it installs the system setting the locale’s then sway comes in display . also setting up and scripts are mostly one way. if there is a slightly system locale issue it takes it over.
when i used i3wm after a update suddenly i got a us keyboard; probably before there was the issue already i think.
Well maybe this is a sign that Sway locale has major issue…So this is basically in beta state at best. Hopefully one day this will be good enough.
only i with sway had is some firefox flikker in dropdown menu’s after a swayupdate the flicker was gone.
If its possible notify the dev that made the sway community edition. This issue is very annoying

Sway sets the keyboard layout based on your locale. So that could be the problem
You can also set the keyboard layout manually. Replace everything from input type : keyboard with below

After reloading sway config with above modification i received an error
"Error on line 15 (/home/user/.config/sway/config.d/input) 'xkb_layout “hu”; Failed to compile keymap: Couldn’t find the “symbols/“hu”” in include paths
Because of this i checked the contents of /etc/vconsole.conf
KEYMAP=hu
Did you pick hungary when installing? Is your locale Hungary now?
Set your locale with
localectl set-locale LANG=hu_HU.UTF-8 UTF-8
Then reboot
I’m notsure what this means… @joekamprad ? Is this a locale issue?
This is the only method I know of setting keyboard layout automatically are there other better ones?
hungarian locale is not set in calamares you enabled en_US only
uncomment it inside /etc/locale.gen // #hu_HU.UTF-8 UTF-8 —> hu_HU.UTF-8 UTF-8
and regenerate: locale-gen (both as root)

Sway is a community contribution, not one of the default options from official EndeavourOS development, but it is tested and working for mostly everyone using it, also it is work in progress and will get enhanced by contributions from users like you or the ones creating it.

The hu_HU.UTF-8 was uncommented as shared in the summary.
Local-gen regenerated still can not change the keyboard layout to Hungarian. To be specific during the login screen at the upper corner, now I have the ability to change from en US to hu_HU.UTF-8 . But this does not give me the option to use Hungarian keys…Only some apps are now translated to Hungarian.
After running this with root privileges ```
localectl set-locale LANG=hu_HU.UTF-8 UTF-8
I got an error
Failed to issue method call: Locale assignment UTF-8 not valid, refusing.
Still having error after restart on line 15 (/home/user/.config/sway/config.d/input) 'xkb_layout “hu” : Failed to compile keymap : Couldn’t find the “symbols/“hu”” in include paths

After you set your locale try this from the terminal
swaymsg input type:keyboard xkb_layout "$(localectl status | grep "X11 Layout" | sed -e "s/^.*X11 Layout://")"
The other error may be because you are missing
xkeyboard-config

Is this from tty or a terminal inside sway
Terminal inside sway. About the fallowing issue Still having error after restart on line 15 (/home/user/.config/sway/config.d/input) 'xkb_layout “hu” There was a typo within nano / .config/sway/config.d/input (i fixed it)
Now localectl status (post the fallowing)
System Locale: LANG=hu_HU.UTF-8

The only issue left is ```
