Hello, even though I have “set $mod Mod4” and “bindsym $mod+Shift+c reload” in my config file, when I reload sway, visual changes like window gaps don’t take place immediately, I have to log out of sway and come back, (other shortcuts with the mod key work properly).
Some things require a log out/in or a relaunch of the window - reload does not affect live windows.
Welcome, TribeClown!
Same thing with swaybar or waybar. If you make changes you either need to bind a key to kill and then restart the bar, or log out/ log in to see the changes.
Some people are able to reload these kind of things with “bindsym $mod+Shift+c reload” in the sway config file.
“bindsym $mod+Shift+c reload” is the default with the EOS Community setup. The only thing I’ve found that it doesn’t restart are user services, like swaync.
Change your gaps and reload your config - doesn’t work, on existing open windows.
Okay, thank you for your answers.
Windows gap are applied to new windows, and, IIRC, if you move it to another workspace
