Hi
Since I installed EOS on my desktop, the suspend mod doesn’t works. I use gnome, and when I hit the button on the right panel, my pc is successfully suspending, but less than a second after that, the pc is waking up.
Also, when my pc is suspending, I heard a “tic” (from my power supply I think ??) I think it’s normal because when I was using windows, it was doing this too. But right after the first “tic”, I heard another one who’s waking up my pc, his rgb and the signal is going to my screen…
I was thinking it was a bios setting, but I didn’t found anything and it was working well on windows like previously said.
Can someone helps me to solve this issue ?
not a general issue and will need more info on your setup and hardware.
and for suspend power supply should not get off.
In general suspend and hibernation is not working that well on Desktops.
Even if it works it can stop after kernel updates.
In case your GPU pcie card is in the way too if its Nvidia per example.
I have a R5-5600X, RX 6750 XT, 32go of DRR4 and my motherboard is a b550 gaming x v2 from gigabyte
So no, my gpu isn’t from nvidia
I didn’t update my kernel since I install EOS, it was a mounth ago
did not update at all? or only kernel packages?
I’ve encountered this before where suspend wouldn’t stick. Happened on my main system and my DAW under both LinuxMint and EndeavourOS.
Check out this article – it fixed it for me: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2004037#p2004037
My bad, I already updated a few times my packages with sudo pacman -Syu
, sudo pacman -Syy
and yay -Syu
But I don’t know if it updated my kernel
It works !!! (at least before creating the service, I hope it still does after I switch it off)
Thanks you soooo much for your help ! Now I’ll use less energy when I’m not using my PC
Little update : I did the first command and it was working. So I created the file with sudo nano
and executed the next commands, and it stops working. So I just did the first command again (with sudo
, because it wasn’t working without it), I restarted and it works perfectly fine ! Thanks a lot again
it will arch is rolling also the kernel.
Pleased it worked for you; based upon what you described, I suspected this would be the fix. Once you create the service, it will persist through upgrades and you shouldn’t have to worry about it again.
